Julian Calderon, 9, Remembered After Tragic Death at Northwest Indianapolis Home on October 19
Julian Calderon was nine years old when authorities found the child unresponsive inside a condominium in northwest Indianapolis on Monday, October 19, 2026.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers arrived around 1:05 p.m. after receiving an emergency report from the Village at Eagle Creek Condominiums in the 4400 block of Village Lane.
Julian and 33-year-old Shatayvia Alisha Calderon were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office later confirmed their identities as detectives began examining the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Investigators spoke with a cooperative nearby witness and reviewed whether authorities or the Indiana Department of Child Services had previously contacted the household.
Neighbors watched officers remain at the condominium throughout the afternoon as the community faced the heartbreaking loss of a young life.
Julian will be remembered as a child whose passing at only nine years old brought profound sorrow to Indianapolis.
